The Health and Safety Display Screen Regulations Act (1992) states that where an employee is a habitual user of a Visual Display Unit (VDU), his employer shall ensure that he is provided, at his request, with an appropriate eye test. Eye tests must be a carried out at appropriate intervals or when the employee experiences visual difficulties which may reasonably be considered caused by work on Display Screen Equipment, and that every employer shall provide him with special corrective appliances if required solely and specifically for VDU use.
Vitality Dental & Optical Care offers the highest standard of eye care to our patients in our prestigious central Edinburgh practice, using only the latest technology and equipment. Our accomplished Opticians have years of experience with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and have much training in treating those who are anxious or nervous.
Eye strain or eye fatigue affects 50%-90% of computer workers, causing headaches, tired, dry and burning eyes. These symptoms can reduce the performance of your employees, ultimately resulting in decreased profitability for you. Vitality Dental and Optical Care can reduce the stress put on their eyes caused by continued use of VDU’s, with a range of optical appliances and visual aids which will increase employee concentration and work output.
A DSE test eVoucher cost just £25 which includes a full optical check-up for your employee and also includes a free pair of glasses from our £49 range. Employees who want to upgrade to other frames can use their £49 contribution towards obtaining a discount on the selected frame.
Every single one of your employees deserves the best eye care available, and here at Vitality Optical care our promise to you is that we will provide them with just that, in a professional and friendly manner.
We have extended opening hours and run a Saturday clinic to cater for all patients, particularly those who normally struggle to make appointments due to their working hours.
